Amino acids designed to meet the challenges of animal nutrition
The animal nutrition industry is facing a number of economic, environmental and social challenges, for which we are constantly coming up with new, relevant and responsible technical solutions.

Thanks to the nutritional strategies developed by METEX and its partners, it is already possible to feed animals, without degrading their performance, using less soya meal, which Europe imports and which may be associated with deforestation and ecosystem conversion in South America. Volumes produced by our METEX NØØVISTAGO plant save the equivalent of France’s consumption of soya meal. It reduces dependence on imported soya and thus helps ensure the European Union’s protein independence.
Open innovation to go fast and far
To enhance our portfolio of solutions, we are rolling out a technical programme to functionalise our solutions, tailored to the needs of our customers and to changes in regulations. We also collaborate with more than twenty specialist scientific entities (including INRAE, UNESP, IRTA, BLONK) to improve our knowledge of the role of our products in animal health and the environmental footprint.
For example, we have built a model that quantifies the environmental benefits of the nutritional solutions developed by METEX right up to the farm gate (in particular the reduction in carbon footprint per kg of live weight). This model enables us to provide a tailor-made service for each of our customers.
A non-GMO, bio-sourced PDO
to increase the sustainability of cosmetic products
Produced following METEX research, our 100% bio-sourced and biodegradable PDO is a multifunctional ingredient used in the formulation of natural and sustainable cosmetic products. Thanks to its preservative, humectant, solvent and emollient properties, it is a natural origin alternative to petrochemical preservatives such as glycol and parabens. It meets consumers’ ever-increasing expectations in terms of safety and sustainability.
– PDO is a bacteriostatic ingredient that can replace petrochemical-based preservatives such as parabens, formaldehyde and halogens. Our PDO is therefore an alternative that enables major cosmetics brands to offer their customers natural substitutes for petrochemical-based products.
DSM, our strategic partner for the marketing of PDO, is working to leverage all its properties. Thanks to this innovative approachTILAMAR® PDO with NØØVISTATM has been awarded the “Microbiome-friendly” label by the third-party organisation MyMicrobiome.
A non-GMO, bio-sourced PDO for high-performance polymer applications
The use of PDO in the manufacture of performance polymers for a variety of applications is also promising. For example in the production of textile fibre, sustainable construction biomaterials or other bioplastics.
Our PDO is used in particular in bio-based polymer applications for the production of sports shoe soles combining bio-based materials and performance.
